I went on a viewing marathon for roughly 9.5 hours. The medium? Speed Grapher.
Gist of show:
Was bleak times in Japan. ex-war photographer Saiga(guy in pic) makes a living by taking pics for a tabloid. He gains information of a secret club, where the rich and affluent spend their time indulging in the steepest of vices. He was able to find and infiltrate this club, where he rescues a girl, Kaguya(see pic) from her double life as the club's "goddess". Also, a fearsome power was awakened inside Saiga when he received the goddess' blessing. Taking a photograph now causes explosions at its focus. It's up to him to find out the mystery linking him and Kaguya, and thwarting an underlying plan to send Japan's economy to a screeching halt.
It starts off with a monster-of-the-day formula, but gets in gear for a deeper plot soon. A diverse pile of characters, as well as volatile relationships, as trust in this world manipulated by money and ambition, is in short supply.
Best viewed by audiences with some degree of maturity, as there is lots of blood/violence, and some depictions of sex(not seeing much, if that's what you're after).
Show I campare this most to: Chrno Crusade. Striking similarities, these two. Though this ends in a happier note than Chrno and Rosette.

Lot of new shows for April, DSL, anyone? So far, I've watched:
Hayate the Combat Butler:
Comedy show that parodies on itself, inserting jokes on itself, including knowledge that it is an anime. Possibly harem, but I can't tell based on first ep. Watch for fun, don't go all "what's the plot" on this.
But for a short idea:
Hayate life sucks. His parents don't work, and waste money, so he's forced to work. One day, his parents run off, leaving him with a very large debt to repay. In desperation, he decides to kidnap a rich-looking loli at the park, but with his choice of words, he got the girl in some other way than a hostage. After his daring rescue of the girl from kidnappers, he is given a job as her butler. (Protecting her from bad people is included in that job).
Claymore:
Action with some blood, a badass girl with a big sword, and needs more episodes. Might feel generic at first, but public opinion tells me this will get better than run-of-the-mill.
Story goes here:
In this world, Yoma(demons) who eat people, are among us. Able to takke the guise of a human, It's almost impossible for a human to break their guise. But there are beings that can. Half-human, half-demon females, known by the people as "Claymore"(due to the big sword they carry) can detect and combat these yoma.
A village that has been besieged by a yoma. has called for the claymore's assistance. A young boy, whose parents were eaten by the yoma, takes interest in Clare, the claymore. He is later recued from the yoma(who was in the guise of his brother) by Clare. Cautious villagers threw the boy out, in fear that he might be yoma as well. things happen, and the boy gets into more yoma trouble, that Clare has to clean up. Clare, remembering her past through the boy, allows him to accompany her as her cook.
Murder Princess:
OAV, Action with an odd premise. some blood. Fun to watch. wonder when next episode comes out?
Plot:
Princess Alita escapes from the castle, which is under attack by a scientist, his minions, and some mecha lolis(w/ rocket punch, FTW!). She runs into Falis, a bounty hunter. Accidentally launching both herself and Falis off a cliff to escape a large beast, a legend proves true, that two people on the brink of death together switch souls. They both survive, but end up in the other's body. Alita begs Falis(now in Alita's body) to defeat the usurpers, using herself as collateral. Falis accepts, and they(has 2 companions) proceed to beat up everyone and regain the throne. This victory in battle has Earned Princess Alita the title "Murder Princess"(they didn't say about the switch).

Valentines month has just passed, and a lot of moments also passed. Anime series have ended and begun, taking a fragment of my soul with it, or lingering in my system. So much romance in anime nowadays. Shoujo is a nice diversion from traditional action fare average boys like.
Kanon:
The emotional rollercoaster is almost over. 2 to go. Half of it is full of lol and cheer, the other half completely negates all that cheer with sadness and drama. It hurts a bit watching what happens. Kyon now needs a 2nd season beacuse it's Yuuichi-2 Kyon-1.

5 Centimeters per Second:

A 3-part Movie(or OAV, something like that) that features a theme of time and distance. Watched the first episode, and the visuals were stunning. The story was also told in an unorthodox manner, and it's a pretty deep train of thought.

Mana Transfer, lol. This show has so far succeeded in not giving me the information I want, but still making me watch it. Main character Kuu(not in pic) is all caught up in strange circumstances, she may be the key to something, I don't know. Not bothered to screencap the other kisses in this show, quite a few...

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru:
Anime gave an open ending (hero gets no one in particular). Isn't it sad, Mizuho? so I have to settle with game CG image to sum it up(and be relevant to topic). If they were going to choose paths, I nominate this one.

World of Warcraft TCG:
Something new I'm indulging in which means less funds for everything else. Still, It has a lot of potential due to being the alpha set. Next 2 sets will make or break this game. Plays similar to Magic: The Gathering, a few elements of Duel masters as well. Art ranges from really good to cartoony WTH.
No samples of cartoony WTH here, I don't want to see stuff like that, hehe.

Planar Chaos
Like waking up one day, and finding out that the fish have started to fly, and people are betting on turtle races. Bending the reality in new ways has given the colors access to thigs it normally doesn't get much off, but still works fine. New budget rares to pique at my creative(and rather cheap) mind. New expensive, flashy rares to profit from when I open a booster.
Best bending of mechanic flavor that should be kept forever: Red bounce. It's perfecly red, the way PC cards do it. No objections. And more red bounce is always welcome, where burn can't reach.
The set's chase rare: Damnation. Well, damnation it is.
Lamest shift: Bog Serpent. Serously, Wizards. out of all blue flavor black would like to have, landhome isn't one of them.
Rare that caught my eye the most: Life and Limb. Land Creature - Forest Saproling... drool :o~~~

The collusion between 2 batches of anime flooding my PC, and exams falling on Wednesdays/Saturdays has been taxing my download time to a crawl. Bit sad, and there are so many things I want to watch. Small reviews for not much reason or purpose:
Soukou no Strain:
A mecha anime with roots from the same source material as Princess Sara?!(Sara, ang munting prinsesa, in case it was still hazy). Pulled off a very good shock value from Episode 1. Don't get too attached to support characters. Has some drama, and mecha action, of course. The plot reminds me of something, but it's not popping in right now.
Reccomended to: Nostalgia(with characters named Sara, Lavinia and Emily, what more could remind you of your feeble childhood). Has some shoujo-ai/fanservice, so if you're in to that... More mecha for the mecha Junkie.
Code Geass:
Another addition to the mecha genre. Features a love to hate anti-hero(think Death Note's Light-o), a love to hate Righteous Justice guy, a whole cast of lol sopporting characters and advertising of Pizza Hut makes this show a good watch. Funny stuff are funny, and the serious stuff are to be taken seriously(except if some Pizza Hut reference were to appear).
Recommended to: Mecha junkies. Fans of Light-o, or who like the anti-hero archetype. People who like pizza. CLAMP character design fans("noodle people" though less of a hyperbole than xxxHolic). Strategy fans.

Touhou
A series of doujin(independently/fan made) games by ZUN. Normally, a curtain fire shooter(scrolling levels pit you against enemies, dodging bullets while hitting them and staying alive). Has gained a pretty good fanbase around it, which spawns nice art.
Amazingly difficult (don't play that many curtain fire shooters). Siberian strike or space impact are cakewalk compared to these games. Adrenalin rush while dodging bullets from everywhere, the thrill of being on the border of death. Also some nice BGM.

Galaxy Angelune - What a way to start, watch the spinoff before the original. I tried the original, but it feels weird. I don't know if it's the english dubs or something. Something tells me I shoud try this.
Kujibiki Unbalane - To see what the Genshiken people are fawning and purchasing doujinshi about. Even if there is a chance it will be bad. The story IS based on drawing lots.
Hataraki Man, Bartender - Slice of life not focused on the ups and downs of teenage life. Must try.
Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto - Something new, or something ripped of from RK? I want to find out.

START
I. Negima!?
Ba't may Negima uli, kala ko meron na anime nun? Ang sagot sa tanong na iyon ay hindi ko alam, pero meron nga na bagong Negima series(May bago rin manga na lalabas sa november siguro). Sa nalalaman ko, base lang nya galing sa original na manga. Pero tuloy pa rin ang original Negima manga. Nakakalito no? Kung napanood nyo yung original Negima anime, nakakalungkot, no? Kung hindi naman, wag na lang, walang mawawala sa inyo.
Maganda ang panimula ng 1st ep ng Negima!?. Background muna. Hindi muna si Mr.10-yr.-old-mage-teacher-in-girls'-school ang highlit sa simula. Maganda ang simula. Basta. Tapos nun, back to main story. Ganun pa rin ang mga tao. Slight differences sa dating story, tulad ng certain characters(ermine). Ganun pa rin, malalaman ni person na mage si Negi. Shotacon pa rin ang shotacon. Sarap panoorin yung random magic trics ni Zazie sa background. May ghost sa classroom, halos wala lang may alam.
Kakaiba yung art nya sa dati. Maganda din naman, pero iba. Pamatay yung end nun.
Recommended: Para sa bigo sa love life, naghahanap ng pagtatawanan, gusto makakita ng Mahou Shounen(endangered species un), at mga nalungkot sa dating anime(sana mas maganda to dun)
II. Death Note
Once upon a time, may mga shinigami(death god). May mga notebook sila. Pag nagsulat sila ng pangalan ng tao dito, mamamatay yon(mabigat ang scythes, di pa portable. Hassle din ang Zanpakutou.) Isang araw, tinatamad ang isa sa kanila, si Ryuuku. Iniwan nya ang kanyang extra notebook sa mundo ng mga tao. Napulot naman ito ni Raito(ayaw ko siya tawagin na "light"). Si Raito naman ay isang tao. Test drive nya ang killer notebook, twice. Patay pareho ng nakasulat. Good idea sya, patayin natin lahat ng masamang tao gamit ito. So, maraming namantay na masamang tao. Pero, ibig sabihin nun, may mamamatay-tao. So pasok naman si L("L". pangalan yon?). Sya bahala hanapin ang pumatay sa mga masasamang tao.
Napanood ko na 1st ep. OK ang mga songs(j-rock). Ok ang art. May nakakaaliw na montage. Most ng nasa itaas na paragraph from 1st ep(sorry). Mahilig si Ryuuku sa mansanas.
Recommended: Mga taong mahilig sa mystery, mga taong hindi nangangailangan ng uber fanservice(meron bang fan service at all it, ang tanong.)., Mga gusto makinig sa mahabang usapan.
NOTE: Hindi ko binasa ang manga nito.
III. Busou Renkin
Ano mangyayari kung pinagsama mo ang Gatekeepers at Full Metal Alchemist. Ito na siguro yon. Nanaginip sa main character na napatay sya ng halimaw. Problema lang, totoo yon. E bakit buhay pa sya? Alchemy. Dati kasi may 2 branches ng alchemy, Homunculi(artificial lifeforms) at busou renkin(arms alchemy). Dahil hindi ito ligtas, itinago ang mga ito sa mundo. Pero may mga nakatakas na homunculi. Nagaanyo silang tao, at kumakain ng tao. Homunculi ang pumatay sa kanya. Pero binuhay siya uli gamit ang isang alchemic device(pamalit sa puso nya). Ngayon, sya at may kakayahan na gumamit ng arms alchemy. Kasama ang babae na bumuhay sa kanya(na isang arms alchemy expert), susugpuin nila ang mga homunculi.
Basic action story. una ko talaga naisip nung nasabi ang homunculi at FMA. tapos ung tao na homunculi pala ay parang invader. Di ko pa masabi kung boring sya or maganda.
Recommend: para sa mga mahilig sa hack-and-slash/generic action. la pa kong maisip na iba.

Many weeks of no posts... i'm lazy, I know.
A windfall for KAS 2, bonus points! only 550 php. covers a temple tour to 5 areas. Adds up to 0.25 step in the grade. Reaction paper though, and a whole saturday. worth it though, since it might be a pain to pass. So far we learned that many Philippine boxers are from visayas because of their warlike nature and areas inhabited by Maranaos have many streamers/banners.
Most other classes were fine. Learned things. Stared at rocks. Lamented the results of Math 17 LT. Heat makes people lazy. My forehand is only good at service. Misinterpreted a story. Ate solid food. Got wet.
I still don't have an umbrella. I need one. Maybe I'll buy one soon.
I'm out of stories, maybe next time.

Re: Orientation
Freshmen orientation last Tuesday. Bunch of talk about UP rlated stuff that didn't interest me that much. Sat on the balcony, so everytime College of Engineering is called, I just sit. When it's CS's turn, I still sat. It fells extremely awkward to stand alone when everyone else is in a different world. CS speaker was very humble, unlike the other 2. Intermission numbers, more interesting than the orientation. Activists coercing freshmen to shout themselves hoarse. Pep squad does the same thing, with matching actions. They were executed half-heartedly, UP spirit was scarce at that time. Sang the UP song thing. Pisay song thing was better (livelier), IMO.
Re: Aftermath (block)
On the way to exit UP theatre, met Mr. Patrick Ala, since his non-entrance in 4th yr Pisay. Still has a short fuse, but one can hit his back without getting your hand drenched. Ready to leave for elsewhere, surprise surprise, reminiscent of an airport, many people with placards, shouting. Went to my block(M-5). I was the only one there for a while (one who marked my block said ligaw ako). Chaufferred to the meeting place, "Owl's Nest". Introduced the block handlers, Zooological Society(ZS). Did an intro game, "WHAM". First one was very impressive, fingers can move like that?! The rest didn't have some insane talent like the first.
Pisay in block M-5(I might forget some): Carmelo Cortez, Juan Miguel Recto, Myself. I think every other pisay BS bio is in the other 2 bio blocks: i.e. Lara, Jondie, Perry, Bea, etc. ZS also booked wednesday with more orientations, CS orienting(am), Bio orienting(pm, ZS sponsored).

Welcome to the real life Big Brother, no hidden cameras, no isolation from the outside world, no penalty scenarios, no diembvodied voice that bosses you around, no one is evicted through a popularity vote. All there is are the bare essentials. House, check. Housemates, check. Housemates are an interesting bunch, but I can't retain names yet.
Notable housemates:
Big brother - older than me, of course. Has teacher advice. Has FHM in room. Drinks. Fun person to talk to. Don't recall his course now.
Resident Pessimist - older than me. Logical, negative. Has no belief in occult whatsoever. seems to have read one too many psych and logic books to believe such nonsense. Believes love does not last forever(for logical reasons).
Psychoanalyst - female. Interested to crack the mystery of resident pessimist. Has some housework prowess. Uses a fire alarm to wake up. Fine arts. Theorizes that pessimist is haertbroken at some point. Laughs everytime she sees ny face long enough.(this is weird behavior)
Solo room - Has a room to himself, with a ref. pays double what we pay. Can cook rice(burner). Has eggs in his ref.

Went to CS for orientation. More uninteresting stuff. Met new friends. Slept, then woke up and clapped everytime a speaker finishes, then slept. Part 2, Org scouting. Orgs had presentations. Most were fun.
Went to pav 4 for bio orientation. Tip, find bio strength then match with thesis advisor. Choose subject time wisely, some may clash with others. Speakers got small pillows. Not much of a turnout, but will do.
Re: Class - Day 1: Prerog fun
Went to class - English 11(8:30-10:00). Surprise essay. Not that hard. Whole class recited lines from Twinkle Twinkle Little Star(you know, the nursery rhyme thing). Note: college students did this. Just more course info.
Big gap between English and next subject, Math 17, at 1pm
Prerog on math 17, found a class. Lucky Polsci had an orientation, making the illusion of empty seats. And the teacher is new, so he's not yet hardened by years of people asking prerog in his class. Surprise surprise, diagnostic test. 50 points. 10 normal, 2 hard. topics include box problems, number problems(i.e. find 4 numbers that) and others. got 7/10 normal. 0 hard.Note: I think the 40 yr old freshman might be in our class.
Last class, Geology 11. Prerog also. Exact no of prerog students accepted. no problems here. Surprise Surprise(I shouldn't be surprised anymore). Group activity, short report on a geol research poster around nigs. Reported on one about lake and unicellular organisms. groupmates were not useful.
Re: Class - Day 2: Why study the life and works of Rizal?
First Class - Kas 2. Teacher was telling stories every once in a while or commenting on something. while revieving the class cards and getting to know people. Talked about the flaws of RGEP the longest, which is some sujects should still be mandatory(such as KAS 1). He explains that it is illogical to make phil. history optional while life and works of Rizal, which is just a mere dot on our history, is mandatory.
Large gap from 8:30 to 11. boring.
Next class was PE 2 - Table Tennis. Me and another freshamn waited for 40 minutes for the teacher, who did not appear. It was laso weird thet we were the only 2 people there. Good we checked the faculty room. The teacher was there and explained that there was class on tuesday and she said there's no class on friday. She also explained that too many slots were alloted for Table Tennis. We were excused on tuesday though, so we were still in the class, thankfully.
Next was Math 17. Lesson on set theory. Great. Even I thought this was a simple topic. learned new math notation though. Quiz at the end of class. every class.
Last was SocSci 1. Very engaging subject so far. I liked the teacher's voice, but he repeats himself a lot. Why do simple concepts seem so complicated?
Re: side notes
Walking around is tiring. ZS likes DotA(even girls play). From board to AS takes 16-20 min. of normal pace walking. Gokusen Live action was shown on GMA!? "Game K N B"'s new format will not get you 1 million pesos. "Deal or no Deal" is still stupid. Go Trinidad & Tobago(underdogs are the best!)!. Ukraine and Serbia & Montenegro were thrashed. Go world cup! Nice goal for sweden @ 88-89 min into the game, but I still want T&T to get the 2nd slot. The OUR is irritating to go to. I'm not sure if presidential or parliamentary is better for the Philippines

I was lazy to type this month. I wanted to post something before 1st semester starts.
Re: Potassium outing
Sudden malling in gateway on a weekday. I was already in Pisay, so I had no problems getting there. got there 3rd, Kat and Don were already there. Katya just informed people that gateway outing was on the 29th at 5pm, around 29th, 4:30pm. So, not much of a turnout, but more than expected. People who were there: Kat, Don(both there before me), Nico(day or 2 home from eurotrip), Katya, Josef, Aya, Vinni(last), Myself. Ate at Teriyaki boy(1st time), lacks rice but got free bottomless ice tea(courtesy of Don). Had 4-5 glasses, so I was hyper when I got home and used the bathroom a couple of times along the way. Group went to timezone(X-men 3 was too watched/not many pass of as 18). Spent no money on timezone, a few free games from people with timezone cards. The rest of the time was spent by me on watchng other people(drum game played anime music, jurassic park was difficult, house of the dead 4 had submachine guns as primary weapon). People also did videoke(soundproof room, swipe for 1 song). My first time to sing on videoke(people just shout anyway, so no prob). Said goodbye to people(haven't hugged a person in a long time, longer for hugging someone not family). Slept late, woke up late, end of story.

I'm not done enlisting yet. *sad*. Actually took a jeep and went around completely because I missed the stop. Subjects secured so far: KAS 2 - history discussed in tagalog, English 11 - Literature and Society, PE2 - Table Tennis. Requesting recommendations for an SSP with 10-11:30 time, or afternoon time(your in the class, I presume). I need to rely on teacher's prerogative(how to spell this?). Also known as begging for classes. Boo. I wonder if any pisay people are in any of my classes. CASAA food is more expensive(compares with caf). Quality is indeterminate.

Start. Enrolled at UP yesterday. My mom came along to assist me. We probably spent at least 50php in jeepney fare. We went round and round on the IKOT, back and forth , building hopping. Played musical chairs at Palma hall, only with no music(brought my own, go MP3!), and no one is supposed to lose. Its a miracle that I lost... lack of credentials=june 6. Wasted the undulating motion it takes to criss-cross for nothing. At least I finished medical at UP. Bad news, my eyes must have gotten damaged from excess anime and lack of sleep, not perfect anymore. My mom doesn't know though, but now I'm glasses-prone. I thought the physical exam was a bit weird, but something about the fact that the person's a doctor makes it easier.
My mom found me a place to crash in (bedspace) cheap, but has basic necessities and easy access to campus. The owner of said space was a pleasant person, seems fine, so I said ok(plus, money is short).

My sister, was looking for something to stream, she was bored because there were no more manga chapters of Furuba for her to download. She stumbled upon an anime named "Aishiteruze Baby". I tagged along to watch (It is anime after all).
The plot was something like this: main character, Kippei is a "playboy", "plays" with different girls and stuff. A student also. His life takes a turn when his aunt disappeared, and her 5 year old daughter, Yuzuyu, is entrusted to his care. Now begins the awkward life of, child care, which changes his attitude and everything. 26 episode series. Art is ok. Mellow OP and ED themes. Genre, i would say: drama, shoujo. Something light, more focus on the relationship of Kippei with Yuzuyu, and the change other people observe. Some girl usually walks to him and goes, "Play with me!". Weird. What "play" is it anyway. Kippei also gets an actual girlfriend, good for him. Yuzuyu likes to whine sometimes, what to expect from a 5 year old with a missing mom. Overall, for those who want to get a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, this is for you.
On to the April releases. It's hard to weed out good ones from the bad, so I will start off with a sequel. Early April, School rumble's second season, "School Rumble 2nd Semester/Term". More comedy goodness from the love comedy that goes round and round, The OP still remains an upbeat, catchy tune. Picks up where the first left off, check ep 26 of rumble for an episode preview, you'll actually see this. Features include Capture the flag, Cosplay, and bad food. It's hard to define a plot, for focus switches from here to there, round and round. It's hard to find love in this mixed up world. (There is a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship between 2 minor characters though)

Hindi pa rin ako cleared. naka "vacation mode" kasi ako. Wala kasing long tests sa summer, kaya ayun. Nagpakabit kami ng DSL sa bahay ng lolo at lola ko, dahil ang dial-up nakkahadlang sa tawag. Dami ko nang nadownload na kung-anu-ano. Late april, nagsimula ako na mag-soccer kapag saterday, at least may productive na akong ginawa. Nakabalik na rin ang lola ko galing sa bisita nya sa us. Makukuha ko na grad bonus ko, pero ibabanko ko siguro. Wala akong magawa dito, kaya nakadikit lang ako sa PC, at naisipan ko na magblog. yun lang.
